sup guys, i have a question here. the JRSC kit comes w/ a new intake manifold which will replace the stock one, so will the prelude lose its vtec ? cuz i heard from my local dealer that once the JRSC installed, u will lose the vtec and u won't have vtec sound at high rpm....i dunno if this is true or not...

The intake manifold has nothing to do with VTEC. What the dealer probably meant is that you will no longer hear VTEC. The supercharger creates pressure in the intake manifold that mutes the sound of VTEC. Instead, you will hear the sound of the blower whining. Most people find this noise to be equally cool.

What you lose is the Intake Air Bypass. No more cool sound of the short runners opening up.
The Prelude keeps both sets of runners, but they're all open all the time.

Could this "solenoid thingy" and "mystery vacuum hose" be for the IAB vacuum actuator? Does it look like the GSR one?

Hey guys,
I was just looking at the nose of the M62 blower. And I was wondering how much smaller a 8psi pulley would be than the 6psi pulley? Just wondering becuase it looks like the pulley wraps around the nose pretty tightly already so I don't know how much smaller of a pulley a person could put on there? Any ideas?

My brother ran into the guy and his prelude today. The car's running well, but they can't get the JR Engine Management or whatever to work. The replacement also didn't work.
Currently, he's got retarded timing and no JR box.
My brother raced him with his 240SX/SR20DET (10psi) from a very unscientific 20mph rolling start. The Prelude kept up until they stopped racing at 90mph.
He's probably going to the drag event I've been talking about on 4/28.

Great Updates Holden!
How much wheel horespower do you think your bro's Nissan is putting out? Hey maybe try racing the guys Prelude (you) from a 20 mph rolling start (so as to less strain on your cars clutch, motor ect) and see what happens.

Here's the skinny:
Prelude: Driver estimated 250hp at ground. Door sticker gave a GVW of 36?? pounds.
Nissan 240/SR20DET: Stock turbo. Huge intercooler, 3" exhaust the whole way, boosting 10psi (stock is 7psi, stock crank hp is 205). Driver estimates 225crankhp/180whp AT A MINIMUM, very conservative. Could be up to 240/200. Car weighs 3050 pounds with driver and full tank (weighed). Heavy ass 18" Oz wheels.
The start was better than I portrayed it. Mostly clean.
My brother is racing with me on Saturday at the track, so we'll have good numbers. The Prelude will hopefully be there too.
My bro is upping the boost to 14psi for racing.

Just to interject here, the prelude does not weigh anywhere near 36XX lbs. Yes it is a little portly but it's no 3000GT. It (5th gen) weighs around 29XX lbs without a driver.

Oh and one more thing, your friend may have been trying to extrapolate his hp from the weight of his car, or at least I hope that's how he came up with 250 hp to the wheels. Cause JR's own car only put down 230ish to the wheels (with all of the extra mods they had).
